Division: Cal Ripken
Dave began coaching youth baseball in 1960 as an assistant coach in the Nashua South Youth Baseball minor league organization.
In 1973, he moved up to manage the XL Corp major league team.
From 1975 to the present, Dave has managed, coached, worked on field maintenance, concession stand operation which he was instrumental in getting built. He also served as Vice President, Umpire Coordinator, Major League Director and rules interpreter.
Dave's biggest contribution to the children was not just about baseball; he taught them life's lessons. He always stressed that school comes first along with respect for their parents.
Dave has spent over 50 Years as coach, manager and Director in the Nashua South Youth Baseball Program instilling in the youngsters lessons needed to succeed not only in sports but in life. Many of his former players went on to College, a few were drafted by Major League Teams. Many of them still come back to say hello to "Coach Drescher".
Alfred 'Fred' Lajoie
1972 - President Nashua West Baseball Assoc. 10 Years
Instrumental in the complete renovation of Nashua West Facilities including new Electronic scoreboard, new state of the art field lighting system, new dugouts, a new field irrigation system, Concession Stand including press box and rest rooms.
1982 - Appointed State Commissioner by Babe Ruth Baseball in their new Bambino Division to organize a New Hampshire Division (now known as the Cal Ripken Division of Babe Ruth Baseball). This developed beyond our wildest dreams growing from the mere 3 Leagues in 1982 to the present 54 Leagues and over 21 Thousand Youngsters
1988 - Host President the Babe Ruth Bambino World Series at Holman Stadium. With the help of the City of Nashua, Holman Stadium was reduced to the 60ft Bases and 200ft Outfield required by this Division
1998 - Babe Ruth Baseball (Lefty Gomez) National Volunteer of the year Award
2008 - Elected to the New England Babe Ruth Hall of Fame for 40 years of service to Youth and the development of Cal Ripken Baseball in New England
2012 - April the Mayor of the City of Nashua and the Aldermanic Board Re-names Nashua West Field. The New Name, "The Fred Lajoie Field"
2012 - September Invited to Fenway Park as a guest of The Boston Red Sox. A special day in recognition of the Service to the Youth of New Hampshire.
2014 - July 5th Inducted into the City of Nashua Holman Stadium "Sports Legends" by the Nashua Lions Club.
2014 - July 18th inducted into the Babe Ruth National Hall of Fame
