DISTRICT COMMISSIONERS OPTION USE EITHER POOL PLAY OR DOUBLE ELIMINATION
The Host League will provide 16 Trophies for the Winning Team and 16 Trophies for the Runnerup Team.
The Hosting League Shall Provide all Cal Ripken approved Baseballs for the Tourney.
A Three member protest committee shall be present for each game and will be introduced to both managers before the game begins. (No Game Umpires allowed on the Protest Committee) No game shall begin until a protest committee is set. Protest Committee cannot rule on ANY JUDGEMENT CALL.
Documents shall be reviewed by the State Commissioner or his appointed representative and be returned after a team is eliminated or has won the Tourney.
Each team member must have either a Babe Ruth I.D. Card, A Certified Birth Certificate (Certified by the Town Clerk of his birth place) or an ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE (COPIES OF BIRTH CERTIFICATES ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE)
A Copy of each Coach/Managers Coaching Certification
A copy of the League Team Accident and Liability Insurance Policy.
Official Tournament Team Roster on Official Tournament Roster Form and signed by the League President
Letter of Eligibility Forwarded by National Headquarters and Signed by the State Commissioner and the League President.
Consent for Medical Treatment form (Beginning At Area and State Level. NOTE: Beginning in 2009 only 1 copy is necessary. It Must be signed by his parents or a legal guardian.
All Members of the Team will be in full uniform (Hat Shirt Trousers and Socks. This includes Each Player, Batboy, Coach, Scorekeeper and Manager. The Cal Ripken Patch is a part of the uniform and worn on the left sleeve. No one in the Dugout or on the Field without a uniform. Only the Manager and 2 Coaches are allowed in the dugout.
NOTE: NO TEAM WILL BE PERMITTED TO PLAY UNLESS ALL OF THE ABOVE (A THRU G) REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN MET. ONLY AN OFFICIAL WAIVER FROM NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS CAN CHANGE THE ABOVE RULES....
Pairings will be done at the spring meeting and brackets will be selected from those provided by Headquarters. Home Team will be decided prior to game time by the flip of a coin. This will be done at home plate and supervised by the home plate umpire or Tournament Official. A team not represented at the State Spring Meeting in Februray will not be considered for home team in any District Tournament nor will they be given a bye at the District Level....
No Double Headers will be allowed unless both teams will be playing their second game of the day, or unless deemed an absolute necessity due to scheduling or rainouts. No more than two games a day will be allowed without a waiver from Headquarters.
There will be no less than 2 umpires at each game. They will be properly dressed in full uniform. (Official Umpire Uniforms ie. Grey Trousers, Black Hat, Official shirt, (Light Blue, Dark Blue or Red). They shall be dressed alike, and must be members of the Babe Ruth National Umpires Assoc., They must be at least 21 years of age and be familiar with Cal Ripken Rules. Be sure that the umpires are familiar with the variations of official baseball rules used in the Cal Ripken Division. The Host League President shall select the tournament umpires but final approval will be by the NH Cal Ripken Official assigned to the tournament.
The facility must have a grass infield and the playing field will be well manicured for each game. A crew will be available to stripe the field between games if more than one game is to be played that day.
Most Tournaments pass a hat for contributions to offset costs. However if you plan on charging admission instead please contact the Cal Ripken State Comm. with the details. In no case will the admission price exceed $2.00 per adult.
An excellent way to offset costs is to run a program book and solicit advertisement from local merchants.
An 8X10 Team Photo will be with each teams documents. . Once the winner is decided give the next level host a call and let them know who the winner is so they can include them in their program book. They can get a copy of the picture online or a copy can be forwarded to them.
The Host League will provide an official scorer for each game.
In addition to his scoring duties it will be his responsibility to keep a current log on all teams pitching eligibility.
A Public Address system shall be available with a recording of the National Anthem for each game.
Each Team will provide a check before their first game to cover UMPIRING AND ASSOCIATED COSTS. (I.E. TROPHIES AND BASEBALLS) This cost will be set by the Hosting League but will in no case exceed $250.00 for any State Tournament. (
